Student found dead at Moi university.

A second-year student was found hanged in a lecture hall at Moi university main campus at Kesses, Uasin Gishu. Japheth Mungai was discovered on Saturday, 14^th December 2019. His body was discovered Saturday night with his hands tied says police commander Harun Muriasi. The body was taken to the Moi Teaching and Referral hospital mortuary.

The parents of the deceased cried foul on the way the university treated the situation. They found out about the incident from the media instead of the school where he was a student. Japheth was a Microbiology student at the university’s School of Biological and Physical Sciences.

The police have said it was a suicide but investigations were still underway. A bus ticket was discovered on him confirming he had travelled from home in Mohetefu village, Laikipia county on December 11^th. The parent confirmed this as he had gone to fetch money to pay his fee balance.
